Exfoliating Body Polish with Shea Butter

We are making our Exfoliating Body Polish with Shea Butter, and it is as scrumptious as it looks! As we have said on our web store, we combined the moisturizing, re-hydrating and calming benefits of Shea Butter with the skin rejuvenating traits of Jojoba Oil and Fractionated Coconut Oil. This has been blended with pure turbinado sugar to create this unique and delightful body scrub. We also use kaolin clay (white) to help detoxify the skin. The result is a scrub that is unsurpassed in its ability to exfoliate, moisturize and rejuvenate your skin like no other scrub you have tried.

First, we mix the butters and oils and melt them on the stove.
Then, we put the melted butters and oils on top of
cold, ice water, and we mix it until it begins to solidify.

After mixing for about 15-20 minutes, we are ready to add the exfoliants to the mix.

Finally, it is ready to be bottled and labeled.

Treat your body to our Exfoliating Body Polish with Shea Butter; your skin will thank you.

Even if you don't use 5th Avenue Bath Co's scrubs, here are some scrub hints to remember--

SCRUB TIPS:

Your entire body should be "scrubbed" at least one time per week, but you can exfoliate your skin mulitple times each week. Using scrubs serves as a stimulating massage and improves blood circulation. You should scrub in a circular motion, starting with the feet, ankles, and legs, then working on to the hands, arms, and shoulders, gradually working your way down to the back, then up through the torso towards the heart. You do not need to scrub "hard" to exfoliate your skin. A cool-water rinse after a body scrub will further activate blood circulation throughout the body. Pat dry and moisturize. As this treatment is revitalizing and energizing, it is best practiced in the morning, but you can do it anytime.

Shea Butter Facts

Shea Butter is a good emollient for moisturizers and helps to penetrate the skin. Shea Butter has a high amount of Vitamin A and Vitamin E, as well as phytosterols, triterpenes, fatty esters and phenolic acids. Vitamins A and E are important in helping to repair skin damage; phytosterols, and triterpenes aid in skin allergies; phenolic acids are good for cellular protection. Shea Butter is widely used to protect skin from the sun’s UV rays, as well as soften and heal cracked and aged skin.
Benefits of Shea Butter (just to name a few):
* Moisturizes and softens skin
* Relieves itching
* Aids with symptoms of dermatitis and eczema

The unique shea tree is native to African and can now be found in 19 regions from Senegal to Ethiopia. Each summer, the tree bears a fruit the size of a plum, which contains a nut. Shea butter is the fat extracted from the seed that is removed from the shea nut. The nuts are mixed with water and boiled until the butter rises to the surface. We actually buy ours from the Burkina Faso region of Africa.
